Reviews and Predictions…

Hi all and welcome to Champy News.

There were a few interesting results today. With Reading scoring 2 goals in the 83rd and 97th minute against Wigan to end up winning 3-2. This is a big 3 points for the Royals and leads them 3 points clear of the relegation zone.

At the other end of the table, Leeds used their game in hand efficiently through beating Bristol City 1-0 away from home which means Leeds are only 2 points behind Norwich. As there are 3 teams who look like they are going to challenge the league title, I thought I will make my prediction for the top three as we are nearing the end of season.

Only 4 points separate the top three teams with Norwich 72, Leeds 70 and Sheffield Utd 68. I personally believe that Sheffield will find maintain their exquisite form up until the end of the season and I can see Leeds falling below and taking 3rd place. Sheffield also have an easier run of games up until the end of the season, facing Brentford at home for their next game. On the other hand Leeds play Reading away. With reading accumulating 10 points from their last 5 games, this could be a difficult tie for Leeds!

Therefore my final predictions for the top 3 are:

  1. Norwich
  2. Sheffield Utd
  3. Leeds

Match Day Preview

Hi all and welcome to Champy News!!

There is a big match today with Leeds facing Sheffield United. After last weeks 3pm kick offs, Leeds went back into second and are now 2 points clear. If Sheffield win they take second place with only 8 games left. Sheffield are unstoppable recently having managed to accumulate 13 points from their last 5 games

At the other end of the table Wigan face Bolton at home. This a huge game and could be a decider for which team could go down. With Wigan sat on 37 points and Bolton 29, it means that if Bolton win they could give themselves a chance to stay in the league.

Reading face Stoke at home which is going to be a difficult game for the Royals. They have recently found a bit of form which is desperately needed if they want to hold their place in the Championship. They have managed 8 points from their last 5 games which isn’t brilliant but does give us Royal fans a bit of hope!!

Finally, please be ready to check in at 7pm to watch the highlights from these three games. They should all be goal heavy due to how much is hanging on these results.

Match Day Review

Hi all and welcome to this early match day review.

I will be going away for a couple of days this evening so thought I would write up about the early games that kicked off at 12:30 today.

A 10 man Preston side have moved into 8th after beating Blackburn 1-0 away from home. Blackburn have been abysmal recently, losing 6 of their last 7 games and conceding 14 goals in these games! After having a good start to the season, however I imagine that they will stay up as they are sat in 17th and 10 points clear from the relegation zone.

Sheffield Utd have closed the gap on Norwich to only 4 points through beating a 10 man Rotherham side 2-0. Not only are Norwich and Sheffield racing for the top of the table, the two teams forwards Teemu Pukki and Billy Sharp are battling for the golden boot with Pukki leading by 2 goals on 24.

21st place Reading take on 19th place Wigan at the Madejski at 3pm with only 3 points separating the two teams. If either of these teams want to maintain their spot in the league this is a must win game and could be a big factor if one of these teams is to go down.

Welcome…

Welcome To Champy News

I’m Jamie and I have been a Reading supporter my whole life.

For a prolonged amount of time I have struggled to find a reliable place to find highlights, transfers, final scores, club news and league positions for the Championship. Therefore I have decided to go on my own accord and fulfill the demand through having all of this information on this blog.

Typically posts will be twice a week, but if there is a week of busy football then I will post more! The posts will typically consist of all the information that was previously listed in this post, but mostly scores, highlights, news and league positions.

On to the scores!!

This week has produced a lot of high quality football. With Villa moving into 12th after beating Derby 4-0 which resulted in the Rams falling into 7th and losing their play off position.

It also looks like Reading are starting to turn around their form after beating Ipswich 2-1 with a 90 minute winner from Mo Barrow. This pulls Reading out of the relegation zone ahead of Rotherham on goal difference.

Norwich beat Millwall 3-1 away from home which gives them a 7 point lead on Sheffield Utd at the top of the table. Norwich have now won 6 of their last 9 games which shows the class that this team can produce.

Thank you for reading, see you all on the next post for the next match day review!
